(Belated) New Year’s Resolutions…Bonk Breaker® Style
Santa Monica (4 February 2015): Before 2016 gets too far underway, we here at Bonk Breaker® HQ decided to take a walk (or tempo, fartlek or interval run) down our 2015 Memory Lane. We kept it simple. Everyone at Bonk Breaker® was asked four questions:
- What was your favorite moment of 2015?
- What was your hardest BONK of 2015?
- What is your New Year’s Resolution?
- What is your target event / race for 2016?
Because we’ve got a competitive bunch (Hey! Who pushed the highest wattage on the way to work?!), each question was scored based on creativity, uniqueness, and overall #fuelyourjourney-NESS. Scores were then tallied, podium positions were awarded for each question and finally a General Classification winner was named. Simple enough? Here’s how it went down:
What was your favorite moment of 2015?
Podium 1: Chris – “Getting top 3 overall in the Pave d’le Arbre cobbles section of Paris-Roubaix!”
Podium 2: Nell – “Crushing a 39-mile breast cancer walk with my 80-year-old mother!”
Podium 3: Mac – “Getting married and the birth of my son Tanner.”
What was your hardest BONK of 2015?
Podium 1: Greg (AKA G$) – “The crazy cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix gave me a headache for the next six months.”
Podium 2: Christian – “Chasing my kids daily depletes my blood sugar levels faster than a 2-hour tempo ride. Is there are bar for that?”
Podium 3: Nell – “Hardest BONK? What?! I don’t BONK! Why would I BONK?! I have plenty of Bonk Breaker® bars, and you should too!”
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
Podium 1: G$ – “Quit drinking Diet Dr. Pepper.”
Podium 2: Nell – “Leave the country voluntarily and take off on an epic adventure.”
Podium 3: Christian – “Learn to accept that the Patriots’ failure to reach the Super Bowl does NOT mean that my year is already a failure.”
What is your target event / race for 2016?
Podium 1: Mac – Leadville 100 MTB race and teaching my son how to ride a strider bike.”
Podium 2: Christian – “Circumnavigate Mt. Shasta in April / May.”
Podium 3: G$ – “USA Cycling Masters Road Nationals in May.”
In the end, G$’s immense #fuelyourjourney-NESS won out, and he was named the overall GC winner. The individual question winners won an official handshake from co-CEO’s Chris and Jason (value is still being appraised), and G$ won a stack of Bonk Breaker® tattoos to rep at his next race. He’s pretty happy about it.
From the crew at Bonk Breaker®, we wish you all a happy and healthy 2016. Get out, kill it and fuel your journey with a ton of Bonk Breakers®!
