Dr. Jeff Bradley began triathlon back in 2011 when he signed up for Ironman Canada. Having never done a triathlon, his goal was simply to finish and check it off the bucket list (familiar story?). Of course, with that one race he was hooked, and spent the past four years working towards qualifying for the IRONMAN World Championships. His dream was realized this year at IRONMAN Texas where he went a blistering 8:38 and punched a ticket to the Big Island this October.
Jeff and his wife and two children, ages two and four, live in Calgary AB; to say he has a full schedule is an understatement. Professionally, Jeff’s an an Emergency Physician at the Foothills Medical Centre. And like any true Canadian, a dedicated hockey fan, holding out hopes the Edmonton Oilers can finally turn around their fortunes.
He trains with the 3433 Sport Performance Centre, races with Team Wynn Republic, and is a member of the Cupcake Cartel. The past four years he has volunteered as one of the race physicians in Kona, which has afforded a good idea of what to expect on race day. His goals: enjoy the first time there and aim for a sub 9 time.
